Job Title: Community & Employment Associate Assistant
AN Classification: Support
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Reports To: Program Director/Community & Employment Associate
General Summary:
Promotes optimum growth and independence to people we serve through the vision of comprehensive services. Carries out action delineated in the plan. Actively promotes quality services. Provides reliable services and is available when the consumer and family need assistance. Communicates appropriately with the consumer, the consumer's family, other staff, and supervisor. Maintains records and documentation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision of Services: Provides and/or obtains resources necessary for consumer growth and independence. Supports people with disabilities in issues related to community integration, community living, employment, housing, money management, etc. Assists consumers with accessing resources internal and external to Abilities Network. Coordinates services with other involved parties. Discusses work progress to supervising Community & Employment Associate and Program Director.
Action Plan and Responsibilities: Participates in team composed of consumer, Associates and others. Performs activities outlined in action plan.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation: Accurately documents hours worked and schedules changes. Writes documentation and reports as required. Performs activities required by regulatory/accrediting agencies.
Orientation toward Customer Service: Actively promotes and represents the agency's philosophy through provision of quality services and through interaction with both internal and external customers.
Miscellaneous Duties and Assignments: Participation in training and development opportunities as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Requires sensitivity to, and respect for, the needs of people with significant disabilities and their families; flexibility; and adaptability. Must be able to lift and transfer the weight of the consumer(s) assigned to support. High School Diploma or GED required. Must have transportation as required to fulfill duties and responsibilities of the position.
