What is Project ACT?
Project ACT means All Children Together. The goal of Project ACT is to make it possible for families, childcare professionals and other education and service agencies to collaborate in successfully including children of all abilities in community settings.
What services does Project ACT provide?
- Trainings and technical assistance to address developmental issues related to a range of early childhood challenges and disabilities
- On-site observation and consultation to decrease expulsion of children with special needs
- Assessment and referral to community organizations
- Short-term on-site support for children with a disability or challenging behavior
- Access to adaptive materials that can be used to help a child’s specific needs
- Liaison services and specifically individualized plans for children with a disability or challenging behavior
These services are all common methods to implement and reinforce positive change for each child.
How does Project ACT receive funding?
Project ACT receives funding through a variety of grants including the Maryland State Department of Education – Office of Childcare(OCC), the United Way, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and private donors.
What area does Project ACT serve?
Project ACT provides training and consultative services throughout the state of Maryland.
