What is Respite Care?
Respite Care refers to short term, temporary childcare, in the home or community that is provided to children with disabilities who have been approved for the Autism Waiver and already receive Intensive Individual Support Services and Family Training through Abilities Network.
Who are the counselors?
Abilities Network provides highly qualified behavioral support counselors to work in collaboration with the individual and family. Our qualified staff is trained through:
- Completion of approved number of mandatory trainings
- Training in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Institute techniques
- Ongoing training and monthly staff meetings
- Onsite mentoring for all staff
I do not currently receive Autism Services. Do you offer other types of services?
For families not yet receiving waiver services, we also offer IISS services, using an integrative approach model, as well as respite care and family training. Please contact the Director of Autism Services for more information about the fees for service opportunities.
